Climate Change Challenge: changes in phenology

Grant Award: $294,664; Year Awarded: 2016

The Sky Island Region is nestled in the heart of continental migratory corridors for pollinators and other wildlife, and is also at the heart of a rapidly changing climate, with accelerated changes in winter precipitation, increasing temperatures, and earlier Springs. Some species of native plants are already exhibiting shifts in bloom times and distributions – with potential negative consequences for a variety of pollinator species. This project will ease transition of a variety of pollinator species in the Sky Islands by implementing site-specific and elevational strategies that provide resources for wildlife and pollinators with large scale conservation planning design.
